stop & think (voice less angle remix) on youtube!

Third composition: ambient lead sound track
New version name name: Stop & think (voiceless angle remix)

The backing track in this song was altered and cut in adobe premier so that the vocals do not play at any point in the track with the exception one word that is repeated twice. The track is called ‘angel’, so to sounded fitting to dub this modified version as ‘voiceless angle’, call it poetic license if you will I just couldn’t resist.

The way this vibe works against this visual display (thanks to the percussion) is a feeling of one of raw Grit. To me personally it coins the ironic notion of to guilt with out remorse, where the backing track sound seems to deafen any guilty references that the visuals if left unsounded alone would only be able to emit.

Second composition on you tube!!

Second composition:

Vocally lead sound track
This demo uses a song by rage against the machine called ‘beautiful world’. Its use in personally for me outlines an interesting ironing, as it compliments the images of despaired just as equally to the images of emotive symbolism. Its quite interesting to also consider the lyrics of in this song soft song as a narration or monologue reminiscent of ‘wonderful world by Louis arms tong. I think the song provides the greatest aid to suggesting some one to ‘stop & think’

Stop & Think (1st composition) on youtube!

First composition:

the sound has been optimized a lot better then the demo yesterday. the sound is crisp and very clear. the intensity of the sound track is brought out with the solo, unfortunately teh solo is good in places and worse in others. if solo was perfected though out the track then the intensity that the images would offer would be allot easier to read off from at first glance

amendment to development

Develop 3 scenario's that this video could be used for

Social well being

Environment

Music video

The end product is to be a compromise of all three elements, that will together demonstrate the use of and power that sound can have as a component and tool to inform, as well entertain.

*need to update the report by adding a section to explain this new direction of thought

22nd Feb! Presention today:)

File format: AVI

File size: 736mb (uncompressed)

Raw But Core Demo!

having snapped and cut footage together from the exibition a simple video was made from the raw captured footage:

snip-cut-video placement style:
using real statistics shown @ the exibition followed by 'moving/suggestive/emotive' images to suplement the textual refferences.

other cool things?:
footage was done @night... so the auido track's darkness makes a cheesey but fitting compliment to the 'video recording atmostphere'

and..with out further a do here is the first demo:

what about the adudio...its a sound module... audio is tres important!!!
1. the audio was uncut and unedited and litteraly thrown together just to give an over all feel alongside the footage:

audio improvements that need to be made:

VOLUME VOLUME VOLUME.... the 2tracks arnt very 'distinct' from eachother....

solution:
to cut each track individualy, and enhance it with a choice of diguital eviroment enhancemencts such as 'damping' and 'dehummer' (unwanted sounds) wich should hopefully purify the sound of each track

assignemnt review NO2

elements from the first review have been developed and others scrapped in favor of creating something with more feeling.

***the car journey concept has been scraped, instead footage i took from an EarthFromTheAir (www.earthfromtheair.com) exhibition in October 2006 is going to be used. footage is going to be cut linked to create silent storey line.

Core elements considered @ the beginning of the project will continue to stand as a basis for future development:

1# "choreograph a set of footage that can be used for the audio build up. As well as to tell a story" *** this has always been the main project idea from the start

2# the audio track is going to be developed in 2 ways.... practically AKA practice practice practice. The second way is via digital enhancements (such as clarifying the sound and tones, as well as panning with the use of digitally simulated sound environments, such as Large Hall ambience's vs small hall, these will be tested and applied @ later stages (hardware/software options to be explored)

to be continued............

demo changes....(1st review)

Development noted from demo:
Video footage: to properly story board then choreograph a set of footage that can be used for the audio build up. As well as to tell a story

Audio development: resample audio idea’s from demo
Track 1 : acoustic- replace strings, practice practice practice
Track 2 : electric fix distortion rythem (less flange maybe)
Track 3: use violin solo effect to record (2 types of solo’s?)
Track 4 : assisted actave rythem to think about
*over all rythem needs much developing

audio sumamry 3bar.. with several acompanying layers for some variation

Negotiaged project

Negotiated project

Idea’s:
Capture video and audio… and throw in some “emotional sound” to “follow” the audio footage.

Development approach :
Visual: To Cut edit and import
Audio: remix and re sample, add more channels..

Video footage: A Journey…

Demo’s

Demo footage: to get a feel of a “journey” taking place, footage will be reused from an unchoreographed car journey
Visuals= moving. Fast… progression….

Demo Audio: using a simple 3 chord progression as a focal point, the aim will be to develop the sound around the video footage...
